New Website/Blog
Hello All – hope all is well – this will be my last post on this blog – please visit www.riceandbeansart.com for our new website, and http://riceandbeansart.com/news1/ will serve as our new news/blog. Thanks!
Geoff Campen/Diana Ruiz
Edo Salon and Gallery Show
Diana and I will be having a solo (well not exactly solo as it is both of us) show at Edo Salon and Gallery with the opening on July 2nd. We are working on a lot of collaborations for the show, and will have some of our own work as well. We are quite nervous as this is our first show with only our work, so we hope it will work out well. Anyway, hopefully we will see everybody there!
Oh, and below are a couple previews:
Supernatural
We will be participating in a group show at the fairly new Fabric8 galleries space. The show is called “Supernatural”, and features in their words: “human interpretations of natural phenomena, from brilliant fauna and flora, to esoteric mind and space” (I hope our pieces live up to that). Fabric8 is a great place at 22nd Street, near Valencia St., and the opening reception for the event is Saturday, April 17th, from 7-10. (see attached postcard for the event).

Check out our updated website at (www.riceandbeans.me), hopefully we can keep it updated with new work periodically.
Spring Open Studios 2010
We will be participating in spring open studios, on April 23, 24, and 25 (http://www.missionartistsunited.org/news). There will be a preview reception at the Blue Studio on Friday the 23rd between 7-10, and all of our studios will be open for all to see between 11-6 on Saturday and Sunday. Mission Artists United is organizing this event for artists throughout the Mission area; please check out their site. Hopefully we will have a good amount of new work to show (only 2 weeks till then!). If you are in the area, please come by the Blue Studio and all the other studios near by.
(please note that the location of the blue studio on the card below is incorrect – it is actually on the corner of 17th Street and Mission)
Hello All
This will be our space for upcoming events, ongoing project updates, and anything else that we find interesting. I’ll start with a picture of Kandy (Diana’s sister), Rocky the monkey, and Dog.
We are at The Blue Studio (http://www.thebluestudio.org/) at 17th and Mission right in the action of the Mission District. As we become a little more settled, we will start posting progress shots of what we are working on, upcoming shows/events, and what we have not yet been able to put on the main site.
